2010 Movies I Want to See

So, these are the movies I want to see in 2010. I really, really, really want to go see Valentine’s Day. From the trailer, it looks hilarious. And a couple hours staring at Bradley Cooper, now that sounds like time well spent to me. I really like the part where Taylor Lautner hurts himself running track and Taylor Swift yells, “Just walk it out, baby,” or something like that. I’ve only seen that part once in a preview. I’m sure if I go on YouTube I could find that clip.

Remember Me is the next movie. I’ve become quite a fan of Robert Pattinson, but then again I like any, cute actor with a foreign accent. I could listen to Robert Pattinson, Hugh Jackman, and Colin Farrell talk all day. Some women have a weakness for guys in uniform or athletes, well, mine is guys with foreign accents. If the guy is good-looking with a British, Irish, or Australian accent, hmm, it’s like cat nip for me. Hee, hee.

Sex and the City 2, I was a HUGE fan of the series. I was really sad when it ended. For months, I was lost without having my show to watch on Sundays. It was a bit ironic that a sex show was on a Sunday. I’m not religious, but I’m wondering if this upset religious people. There is a rumor I heard that in Sex in the City 2 babies will be born. Does Carrie and Big have some little ones? Will Samantha and Smith get back together? Will Charlotte and Harry have more kids? Now, I could see this happening with Charlotte being such a mother hen. OH! Maybe, it’s Miranda and Steve, who have more kids!

Iron Man 2, I loved the first one and Robert Downey, Jr. is hilarious along with being incredibly talented. I’ve seen the trailer to this movie and I was quite amused. Scarlett Johansson is one of my favorite actresses so this makes the movie even more appealing. I really like action movies, so throw in some super heroes and I’m game to watch the flick.

Of course, I’m dying to see Twilight Sage: Eclipse. I really tried to refrain from reading the book, but I caved. I’ve read the book a couple times and each time the night where Jacob, Edward and Bella spend the night in the tent awaiting the Newborns still makes me laugh. Jacob is hilarious and I like Meyer's humor that she portrays for him. Bella’s reluctance to getting married, I totally relate to. I was not that girl, who dreamed of her Prince Charming and had all her wedding planned out. I feared marriage and had no desire to get hitched. Odd, that I’m married, huh? Well, my husband proposed to me after five years of dating, which in those 5 years I didn’t even think about getting married. But, I was turning 30 and thought hmm, maybe, I should take the plunge. Okay, I love my husband, too, so that was a factor of agreeing to marry him.

These are the only movies I’m aware of for 2010, so there will be more that I want to see. I could spend my days just watching movies all day. It’s too bad I can’t do this.

Random 2010 Wishes

What do I wish for in 2010? I’ve decided that I want a banana yellow Porsche. Where will I get the money for this super, fast, flashy car? I have no idea, but after watching Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) speed down the highway in Italy in Twilight Saga: New Moon, a desire for the sports car grew. Actually, any fast sports car might do. However, I like the look of Jaguars, but my husband informed me that they aren’t fast. That’s too bad, because they look (what’s the word I’m looking for), hmm?

Anyhoo, I really have this itch to go sky diving. I’ve never done it, but have always wanted to. The idea of jumping out of a plane and plunging to the ground just sounds like a whole lot of fun. Adrenaline rush I’m sure. I’m just hoping I can sky dive without breaking any bones.

Get a book wrote, well, that is kinda going slow. I, actually, have two book ideas started. The outlines of the books are created and some chapters are written. I never saw myself as a Romance/Sci-fi writer. I was always interested in murder mysteries and that was what I planned to write. But I keep getting romance/sci-fi ideas popping into my head.

I would really like to get a puppy. Yea, I know I have three, huge dogs already, what will I do with another pup. I just miss having a puppy, because they are so fun and adorable. We can’t really afford another dog. With the cost of food and vet bills, the idea of getting another dog really isn’t reasonable. But I would like another puppy Rottweiler or Jack Russell or Boxer or German Sheppard or a mutt. I’d really like a blue Pit Bull and name it Azul, which is blue in Spanish.

Well, these are the random wishes I’ve had in 2010. I’m sure I’ll have more before the year ends!

Lost: Past/Present- Where Are They Now?

I'm confused, but this is the way I have been through all seasons of Lost. So the final season has started, the Oceanic crew are still on the island despite the explosion that was suppose to prevent the airplane from ever crashing. However, there are flashbacks where we get to see what happened to Jack, Kate, Claire, Rose, Sawyer, Hugo when the plane never crashed. This made me scratch my head and go "hum, what the hell does this all mean?"

With the Lost final season taking this route, I had to wonder what it all meant, which was the same question I asked as the flashbacks took us to the past and to the future. From past episodes, I understood that time travel was possible and there were wrinkles in the time travel when things didn't happen the way they should have. Or maybe, I was wrong thinking this, hmm.

From the new episodes, I wondered how can the cast be still on the island and in the present as if the plane never landed. Or is the director just trying to show us what would have happened if the plane never crashed? And if this is the case, why? How will this answer all the questions of what has already happened on the island?

It's all very confusing and hopefully the coming episodes will start to make sense of life on the island!

Twilight Saga

Where do I begin? I've read all the books and I'm addicted! I keep hoping that there will be more to the story of Bella and Edward beyond Breaking Dawn. Let me start with New Moon, since I've already talked about Twilight. Of course, the book is filled with many more juicy details than the movie. However, I still like the movie. Having the visual of all the characters, it adds to reading the books.

Aro, I find him hilarious. He's so polite and formal, but yet he's a blood sucking, human killer. After reading the book, of course, I had to go watch New Moon again. Actually, I watched it two more times. Every time, I'm amused by Aro. It will be fun to watch his polite banter in Breaking Dawn as he plots to claim the gifted Cullen vampires.

I found New Moon to be sad, because Bella's heart is broken by Edward. Jacob is a sweet kid and hilarious in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, but I still want Bella and Edward together during all the battling that Jacob does for Bella's heart. I'm happy that Jacob finds his true love in the end and that Bella, Jacob and Edward become family. If you haven't read all the Twilight books, stop reading my blog, because I will be revealing tidbits in all the books.

The wolf pack will that was an interesting twist to a vampire book. Of course, I'm sure that the female fans loved watching the five wolf boys walk around barely dressed throughout the movie. The first time I saw New Moon there was a person in the theater who sighed really loud when Taylor Lautner took his shirt off for the first time in the movie. It was hilarious and many of us chuckled. Taylor's muscled body did look tasty so I understand the sighing from the person in the theater. It will be fun to see how they get the Jacob wolf smiling and laughing that is if they include it in Eclipse. Plus, I wonder if the female wolf will be included in the movie version of Eclipse.

My favorite parts in Eclipse are when Bella punches Jacob and only achieves breaking her hand. Meyer's humor comes out in the last two books and I was giggling many times as I read them. After reading about Jasper and how him and Alice finally found each other, I wanted to read more about them. Of course, Alice is one of my favorite characters and agree with Meyers that she is a friend that every girl would want. My last favorite part in Eclipse is when Edward, Bella and Jacob are spending the night in the tent waiting for the Newborns to arrive. I'm wondering if this part will be included in the movie and how it will play out.

Of course, all the romantic parts with Bella and Edward in Eclipse are entertaining to read. Eclipse is filled with the toxicating romance that has many rabid fans of the Twilight Saga loving Edward. I've read where Edward is Meyer's version of her perfect man. I don't know if I would agree that Edward is the perfect man, but I have to say that Robert Pattinson makes the perfect Edward.

I started to discuss Breaking Dawn then decided that the book is so long that it needs it's own blog posting, so stay tuned for more Twilight blogs.

The Final Season of Lost Has Begun

The final season of Lost has not failed to keep us completely LOST! I'm really sad that the show is coming to an end and I'll probably be lost when it's all done. This is always my reaction when one of my favorite shows comes to an end. I'm not sure I'll be as sad as I was when Sex and the City ended, but maybe close.

Any hoo, back to the two episodes of the final season of Lost. Who the heck are these new "Others" and what is their agenda? Of course, we have not been told anything about these "Others," but we did find out that Claire is alive or is something. Sayed died then he came back to life. What brought him back to life? We have no idea, but we do know that the island is mysterious and has powers that made Locke walk again. Plus, the island cures cancer like it did in Rose.

It was sad that Sawyer lost Juliet. But after episode two, I'm wondering what's up with Kate. Is she in love with Sawyer? They've been together, but I'm not sure if it's Jack or Sawyer that she loves.

Despite all my questions and confusion over Lost, it's still my favorite show and I'm glued to the TV every Tuesday night! More Lost blogs to come!!

Another Crazy Twilight Fan

I must admit I’ve been bitten by the Twilight bug. Why? I have no idea! My husband rented the movie way back when it came out on DVD. After he bought it home, I was asked him, “Why did you get that movie?” I had no desire to watch it. When the movie was being made I heard all the hype about Twilight and the crazy fans. I thought, “Oh great another vampire movie.” I didn’t want to see it, because I thought it was just a teen fad thing.

Well, Twilight is a teen fad thing, but I was intrigued by the popularity of it. When “New Moon” came out and I heard all the money it was raking in I became curious. So a friend of mine sent me her copy of Twilight, I wanted to see what Stephanie Meyer wrote to cause such a crazy turnout and so many rabid fans for “Team Edward” and “Team Jacob.”

I started reading “Twilight” the day before New Year’s Eve and finished it the next day. This is how I spent ringing in the New Year. I’m revealing the exciting life I lead. Anyway, I couldn’t put the damn book down. The obsession began after I couldn’t remember how Bella finds out Edward is a vampire, so I kept reading. By this time, the romance between Edward and Bella is developing in the book. So I kept reading! By 4 a.m., there was still over 100 plus pages to read and I tell myself to take my ass to bed!

After finishing Twilight, I had to watch the movie over again, because I couldn’t remember what parts of the book are in the movie. The first time I watched it again, I hated it. But, I never like movies where I have read the book. The very first time I watched Twilight when my husband rented it. I loved the movie. After I watched the movie for the second time, I watched it again. Yes, this is how I spent my New Year’s Eve. I loved the movie after watching it for the third time and understood the reason why so many teenagers are crazy over Twilight.

New Year’s Day, I dragged my husband to watch New Moon. I had to see the movie before reading the book otherwise my immediate reaction would be this movie sucked when really it didn’t. If I’ve read the book and it’s made into a movie, I watch the movie comparing it to all the details that are left out that were in the book. Every John Grisham movie I’ve seen where I’ve read the book prior, I didn’t like the movie.

Anyway, I wanted more Twilight after seeing New Moon. Robert Pattison wasn’t in New Moon as much as the first movie, but this is because Edward leaves Bella. Edward believes that his presence will bring Bella to her death. Well, he is a vampire and she is a human so danger does lurk even with him. But hey, all relationships are complicated.

Two thumbs up for New Moon, it was action packed and the werewolves make for an interesting twist in the vampire story. Bella finds herself in a love triangle and I was shocked by Edward’s marriage proposal at the end. If you haven’t seen the movie, sorry for the spoiler, but the movie has been out since November so I assume there have been many spoilers leaked.

On an ending note, my opinion of Stephanie Meyer the mad creator of Twilight, I’ve read many negative reviews of her writing style. My immediate thought of her writing as I read Twilight was its simple. This said simple is not a bad thought. I think James Patterson writes in a simple manner. I prefer this style. What I look for in books are does the story keep flowing and is it interesting, Twilight definitely kept my interest. It didn’t take several chapters to catch my attention. There have been books that put me to sleep and took half the book before I was interested. Other books just didn’t make it past the first chapter, before I abandoned finishing it.

Despite the critics of Meyers writing, she had a concept that was marketable. In the literary world, a marketable book is all that matters. You don’t have to be a fabulous writer to be a best seller. Meyer was able to touch on what teenagers are interested in, the things they deal with in their teen hood and she created interesting and desirable characters. Edward Cullen is a man/vampire that seduces the female reader. He doesn’t exist, but female readers wish he did! This is what Meyer hooked her readers with!!
