Kick It In...Colorado Rapids

rapids

Thanks to EventChaser (subsidary of Razor Gator), I was able to attend a Colorado Rapids soccer game on June 20th. My husband was all excited to go see the Rapids, but he ended up having to work. This was very sad for him, since he's a BIG soccer fan. He played soccer all through high school and wanted to go pro, but there were only pro teams overseas.

Anyway, my husband's mother-in-law was more than happy to go to the Rapids soccer game with me. As you can see from the picture, our seats were very close to the field. We were in the third row and I could see every play.

Omar Cummings scored the first point for the game against DC United. Right before the half time, Omar scored another point. The Colorado Rapids ended up winning the game with a score of 3-0 with Colin Clark making the last score.

It was a fun night with the Colorado Rapids and I can't wait to go to another game with my husband. He has never seen the new stadium, Dick's Sporting Goods Park. We saw the Rapids back when they were playing at Invesco Field and the experience was much different for me. I couldn't see anything that was happening at Invesco and really enjoyed watching the soccer game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. I wrote a review about Dick's Sporting Goods Park for Event Chaser.

My Night With Gavin Rossdale

Gavin Rossdale played at the Gothic Theater in Englewood, Colorado on May 31st. I was lucky to snag tickets through Event Chaser (subsidary of Razor Gator) for FREE!! In case there is anyone out there who does not know who Gavin Rossdale is, he was the frontman for Bush, the nineties grunge sensation. I don't consider Bush grunge, but that is how they are described. I didn't follow Bush in the nineties when they were really popular, but I did like their songs Everything Zen, Machinehead, Glycerine, Adrenaline to name a few.

When I was given the chance to write a review for Event Chaser about the Gothic Theater and Gavin Rossdale's concert I jumped on the chance. I've never been to the Gothic Theater so I had no idea where it was. Well, it's a small venue. I liked the intimate atmosphere of the place and watching a concert there is so much more fun than in a Big arena. Last year, I saw Van Halen with David Lee Roth and Bon Jovi at the Pepsi Center. I enjoyed seeing the legendary David Lee Roth strut around on stage. I have to say for being in his 50s David still is sexy!! Bon Jovi gave one hell of a performance and I've been a fan since the 80s. But the Pepsi Center is HUGE and the band was so far away. I couldn't afford floor tickets so I mainly watched the Van Halen concert on the big screen. For the Bon Jovi concert, I was a lot closer, but still far away.

At the Gothic, anywhere we sat Gavin was so close. I wish I would have went to the front of the stage to enjoy the concert, but my hubby was tired and wanted to sit. When Gavin came out to play we ended up standing the whole time so shoulda, woulda, coulda.

061

Well, where do I start with telling you all about the concert. Gavin is a bundle of energy despite being 41. I'm 40 and I don't think I could have jumped and danced around as much as he did. I have many blurry pictures where I tried to get pictures of Gavin, but he was constantly moving most of the time. Gavin went out in the crowd many times and yes I really kicked myself for not being up by the stage.

071

When Gavin knocked down the cymbals on the drum set I thought what is he doing and was amused by his destruction. He took a rest on the drum set. This was quite funny. I guess after running around on stage for a couple hours he needed a rest.

067

The performance that Gavin gave was spectacular. He sounded better live then what I've heard on the radio. This just shows how Gavin is an awesome performer. If you ever get the chance to catch him in action, go, go, go to a Gavin Rossdale concert you will be fully entertained.

Mother's Day Is Sunday

My husband and I were discussing what to get his mom for Mothers day. I saw this ad for 1800Flowers.com where you could buy a dozen roses and get a dozen FREE with a vase and a small box of chocolates for $29.99. Flowers were a good idea, but hubby wanted to know if there were any other gifts we could get his mom. I searched around the 1800Flowers.com website and came across the Barefoot in Paris gift set. Hubby’s mom likes to cook so this would be a great gift since it includes the Barefoot Contessa’s cookbook.

Another gift mom would like is the Picnic Basket gift set, because she collects baskets. On one of her trips up to the mountains to hike around, she could take this basket and have a fun picnic with the lemon, key lime cookies, crackers and cheese, Tuscan snack mix and more. This gift looked so nice I wanted one! The Chocolate Spa set looked yummy and the thought of bathing in chocolate sounded interesting. I wondered if we got this for hubby’s mom if she would come out smelling like a Godiva candy bar!

Despite all the interesting gift options, hubby decided on the Mothers day flowers special, because mom never received roses throughout the year. Mother’s Day would be the perfect day to get two dozen colorful roses to smell and enjoy. Plus, the box of chocolates would be a nice treat for mom to indulge on during her special day!

Get Lucky with Loverboy: Rockin the 80s

The Canadian Rock Band that melted the hearts of American females.

Yes, another 80's band that I was crazy about. Jammin to their tunes all night. While writing an article about them, it took me back to the 80's. Reminisced about my crazy teens and the wild things I did. I saw Loverboy in concert when I was 15, man that was so long ago. Fun times!! The events of the night were non-criminal, I behaved, but had a lot of fun. I was never as wild as the girls that made their way backstage. Details won't be discussed, but the girls I did know so heard some xxx stories. It would have been nice to meet Loverboy, but.... Concerts are such a good time. If I was a guy becoming a Rock Star would have been my chosen dream.

Michael Vick Should Not Be Allowed To Continue In The NFL

michaelvickjury

Michael Vick was in the news again. The NFL are considering Vick still after the horrible things he did to dogs. I couldn't believe that Vick after his release from prison in July 2009 will be allowed to continue his NFL career. I was appalled by this and wrote an article that was published on Associated Content about how I feel about this news. Check out the article.
