Yes, another 80's band that I was crazy about. Jammin to their tunes all night. While writing an article about them, it took me back to the 80's. Reminisced about my crazy teens and the wild things I did. I saw Loverboy in concert when I was 15, man that was so long ago. Fun times!! The events of the night were non-criminal, I behaved, but had a lot of fun. I was never as wild as the girls that made their way backstage. Details won't be discussed, but the girls I did know so heard some xxx stories. It would have been nice to meet Loverboy, but.... Concerts are such a good time. If I was a guy becoming a Rock Star would have been my chosen dream.

Michael Vick Should Not Be Allowed To Continue In The NFL

michaelvickjury

Michael Vick was in the news again. The NFL are considering Vick still after the horrible things he did to dogs. I couldn't believe that Vick after his release from prison in July 2009 will be allowed to continue his NFL career. I was appalled by this and wrote an article that was published on Associated Content about how I feel about this news. Check out the article.

10 Great Things About Dogs - Abolish Abuse, Neglect, Cruelty and Dog Fighting

picture-065

Dogs should not be abused or neglected or made into dog fighting machines for these ten reasons.

1. Dogs give love and kisses freely. 0141

2. Dogs do the funniest things. My Daisy's favorite past time is to sleep on her back farting and snoring really loud. She provides my husband with lots of laughs with her loud snore. 018

3. My Rottweiler Daisy gives hugs. She puts her head between your legs and this is her hug to you, now you must pet her.

4. Dogs are always happy to see you when you come home and greet visitors with their whole body wiggling.

5. My pup Apollo loves to sleep with mama. He jumps up on the bed every morning and snuggles up next to me keeping me nice and warm. This is great on those cold, snowy days.

6. My pups make me laugh and make me happy as I watch them run around after each other in the backyard.

7. Dogs are so easy to care for and love. All you have to do is walk them, feed them, groom them and shower them with endless amounts of affection. 007

8. Dogs are so easy to please. Daisy loves to have her belly rubbed and a tossing a tennis ball for her to chase. These two things puts Daisy in heaven.

9. When my husband travels my pups keep me company and safe.

10. Dogs don't care what you look like or whether you have lots of money. They just love being apart of the pack and are eager to please.

Jack The Angel Dog

Jack and Maya
Jack and Maya

I can't believe someone would throw away a dog. Jack was put in a dumpster left to die, luckily, someone found the dog and took him to the humane society where he was adopted. Jack is a blessing to Maya, a little girl that has seizures and other problems. This little dog has saved her life many times and has helped her in other ways. Dogs are such a special animal. Whoever threw this dog in the trash should be beat. Hooray, for Jack the wonder dog and angel to Maya!! Read the full article and watch the video.

28 Dogs Abandoned

I've heard many stories of dogs being left or taken to the humane society, because of the slump in the economy. In a week, I found two stray dogs. They looked like they had been on the streets for awhile. They were thin and dirty. I took them to the humane society hoping that their owners were looking for them or that they were adopted. I'm regretting that I didn't take them to a no-kill shelter, but I hope they have found homes.

Here is another story about dogs being abandoned in Frederick, MD. They were all small breed pups and it was a really cold day when they were left on the side of the road. There is a $500 reward for any information on who did this cruel act. There are no-kill shelters out there that owners can take their dogs to. If you have any info about who abandoned these dogs or want to adopt any of the pooches, here is the contact information. It’s located at 1832 Rosemont Avenue, or you can call them at (301) 600-1546. Check The Dog Food Labels Before Purchasing

I was shocked to find out the poisons that are put in some dog foods. I had heard that there were crappy things put in some canine grub, but I was not aware of how harmful some of the ingredients were. Read the labels before you buy your pup that food. One of the bad things you want to be on the look out for is BHA (Butylated Hydroxyanisole), which is a cancer causing agent, especially, stomach cancer. They don't allow BHA in children's food, but I guess no one cares about canines being harmed.

BHT is Butylated Hydroxytolune and used in cosmetics, rubber, jet fuels, etc. I can’t believe this preservative is put in dog food. It can cause liver damage, metabolic stress, and increase cholesterol. Ethoxyquin is a pesticide. It has been known to cause liver/kidney damage, cancerous skin lesions, blindness, leukemia, liver cancer and so many other ailments.

The last preservative to avoid in dog foods is propylene glycol, which is another carcinogen. It is known to destroy red blood cells. This poison is found in wet dog foods so make sure to read the labels and if any of these preservatives are listed put them back on the shelf. I have to wonder who is putting this poison in canine food and whether or not they even care about dogs.

Plus, you don't want to by dog food that has meat by products in it. Dog foods that have by-products have manure, hair, hide trimmings, bone, hoof, horn, and other bad additives. This does not sound tasty and I’m sure our dogs would like a more delectable dinner.

There should be at least 24% protein in the dog food. A dog’s diet must contain an adequate amount of protein to build a strong immune system, give them a shiny coat, and maintain proper weight. The proteins must be digestible to rebuild cells in tissues, organs, antibodies, etc. Plus, the more digestible the food is, the less the dog’s body has to work to utilize it.

Just like in human food this rule applies to dog food, the ingredients listed first are what the food contains the most of. If by-products are listed first, your dog will be eating junk rather than nutritious ingredients. You want to avoid foods that have animal fat in it. Unless, it specifies the animal fat, such as chicken, the fat in the dog food could come from anywhere. We wouldn’t want to eat mystery fat, so why make our dogs dine on it.

I feed my dogs Science Diet. It’s very good food and I don’t mind that it cost a lot more than the cheaper dog food. Adding more years to my dogs’ life, this gives me comfort and I want to have them around as long as possible.
