Hawkeyes play Purdue tomorrow. Are the Hawkeyes going to win? I hope so. Great game against Penn State last Saturday. Let's have a repeat performance this Saturday against Purdue!! Bowl bound??? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Hawkeyes go to a bowl game this year.
I've seen the Hawkeyes in a couple of bowl games, the Rose Bowl and the Alamo Bowl. The Rose Bowl is wild. Actually, the partying before the Rose Bowl parade gets crazy. I was sleeping in the camper when this happened, but my parents told me about the naked guy running around in the middle of the night.
If you have not been to a Rose Bowl parade or game, people camp out the night before on the street in Pasadena to save there spot to watch the parade the next morning. My parents took me to the Rose Bowl twice. The first time I went I think I was twelve or maybe younger. The second time I was nineteen and I remember this bowl game. I wondered around Pasadena around 3 in the morning looking for the camper, because it was too cold to sit outside. My friend ended up reserving our front row seats on the street for us.
Seeing the Rose Bowl parade that close is neat, but you don't get a good view of the floats like you do watching it on T.V. I would reccommend going to the Rose Bowl if your team is playing. It's fun and a memorable experience.
The other bowl game I went to was the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. It's not as wild as the Rose Bowl festivities, but it was fun. As soon as I find the pictures to this event, I'll post them and you can see how we adore the Hawkeyes. Iowa doesn't have a national football team, so the Iowa residents treat the team like they are in the NFL.
