I just read this blog about a 19 year old kid commiting suicide on Justin.tv. This was disturbing enough to hear, but as I read on the people on this forum or whatever this site is were encouraging the kid to commit suicide. One, I want to know what crazy, cold hearted people are on this Justin.tv site. Two, why didn't anyone try to talk to this kid into getting help for his suicidal thoughts instead of encouraging him to end his life.
YouTube, My Space, Facebook, and other social networking sites are fun and a great way to keep in touch with friends, but when these types of websites are used to fulfill some sick person's fantasy to watch someone kill themselves. It makes me wonder if these types of sites are not regulated enough. After this incident, I hope this leads to a more stringent monitoring system of forum conversations.
This suicide should have not happened. And on a public forum, someone should have taken the steps to prevent this kid from taking his life.
