Meet the Furry Babies

This is Daisy. We rescued her at the age of 3 months old. Someone had abandoned her at a PetSmart Grooming Salon in Texas. We happen to visit PetSmart getting Apollo and Zeus some food. The dog trainer was there that taught the Puppy Training Class that Apollo and Zeus attended. She told us about Daisy being abandoned and that the grooming salon was taking care of her to see if her owner would come to claim her.

Daisy was named Sassy. Her owner never came to get her by the end of the week so PetSmart had to take her to a rescue organization. They called me to tell me they were dropping Daisy off. I met them there, filled out the paperwork to adopt Daisy then came back in 3 days to take her home. She still had to be spayed and get her shots.

I didn't keep her name Sassy, because when I saw her Daisy just popped into my head. She prances when she walks. And very lovable. She likes to put her head between your legs and be showered with pets. She snores really loud when she sleeps and likes to sleep on her back. Daisy's favorite thing to do is chase tennis balls. She's a fanatic about this.

Daisy is small only 74 lbs, but has the strongest jaws and fiesty. She keeps up with her two brothers and plays just as rough as they do. Apollo and Daisy like to run around after each other in the backyard. People are intimidated by her, because she's a Rottie. However, Daisy is the sweetest dog. She loves people and kids. She will sit pretty as they pet her.

This is Apollo. We rescued him at 3 months old from the Texas Humane Society. He came from a litter of four of mixed Yellow Labs and Rottweilers. He was the shy one in the litter. When I went to look at him at the pound, I had to crawl all the way back in the kennel, because he was curled up in the farthest corner scared.

After I was able to take Apollo home, we found out how sick he was. He had every worm imaginable and the poor little guy had diaherra. We had to feed him special food and he had to take a lot of medicine. It took about two weeks for him to start feeling better and to take interest in the other puppy in the pack, Zeus.

It wasn't long before Apollo was running around after Zeus in the backyard. Apollo grew stronger and his coat became thick and began to shine. He's still the shy one in the pack, but Zeus helped him to come out of his shell some and become confident.

Apollo is the most loving dog. He'll shower you with kisses. He's a mama's dog. Apollo is most attached to me and always comes to greet me whenever he comes in the house. He's the largest one in the pack at 85 lbs, but the gentlest. Dogs love to play with him, because he's playful and submissive.

This is Zeus. He was the first pup we adopted from the Texas Humane Society at the young age of 2 months. He was a 7lbs fur ball when we rescued him. He is a true Mutt, he's Rottweiler, Black Lab, and something else. Many people think he's part German Shepard and he could be. One of the workers at the Humane Society called him a cattle dog and he could be with the spots around his neck, but he sure does not have cattle dog energy. Zeus is the calmest and most laid back dog. He just laid in my arms staring at me when we picked him up.

Zeus had kennel cough when we rescued him. The poor little guy had snot running down his nose, while I walked him for ten minutes every day. After some tasty lamb flavored medicine, Zeus was an energetic pup. But he has the lowest energy of the pack, Zeus spends most of his day sleeping after the hour and a half run in the morning.

But he's very playful, he likes to wrestle with Daisy and chase his siblings. He likes to chase toys, but not for very long. He would rather lounge in the backyard. But his favorite place is his pillow, he sleeps for hours.

Zeus is very independent and would be the lead dog if I let him. He's the one with the most confidence, very social and loves to go to doggie daycare. Zeus loves to play with other dogs. When I take the dogs to the dog park Zeus runs around introducing himself to all the other dogs forgetting about us. Zeus will hang out with another set of dogs at the park instead of the pack.
